The DNC Wrote 192 Pages on Why It Lost and Still Can't Bring Itself to Mention Gaza

The Democratic National Committee just dropped a 192-page autopsy report on why Kamala Harris got steamrolled in 2024, and the document is so incompetent that DNC Chair Ken Martin had to publicly disown it before anyone even finished reading it. That's right — the Democrats commissioned a report to figure out what went wrong, and the report itself is what went wrong.

"I am not proud of this product; it does not meet my standards, and it won't meet your standards," Martin said in a statement that should probably be tattooed on the forehead of every DNC staffer. Imagine spending over a year producing a document and then having your own boss tell the world it's garbage. Chef's kiss.

Democratic strategist Paul Rivera was reportedly tapped to produce the audit, and what he delivered was a masterpiece of institutional failure. Entire sections are blank. The executive summary? Missing. The conclusion? Also missing. Multiple sections are marked "pending" with annotations reading "this section was not provided by author." One hundred and ninety-two pages, folks, and they couldn't even finish the thing.

But here's where it gets truly beautiful. The word "Gaza" appears exactly zero times in the entire 192-page document. Same for "Israel." Same for "Palestine." Same for "Arab American" and "Muslim." Zero. Across nearly 200 pages supposedly analyzing why Democrats got crushed.

This is hilarious for two reasons. First, the progressive wing of the party has spent the last year and a half screaming that Gaza cost them the election. Rep. Ro Khanna, Democrat from California, said the quiet part loud: "One of the reasons we lost was our blank check to Israel and Netanyahu while they committed genocide in Gaza." Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez called it "pretty unbelievable that Gaza would not be mentioned once in the autopsy report."

Second, even Harris's own deputy campaign manager Rob Flaherty admitted the damage. "For many voters watching the horrific, painful footage out of Gaza, it became a moral question — one we didn't have a good answer for," Flaherty said. He described the issue as spending "the entire election with a giant, rotting fish around our necks." His words, not mine.

So the DNC's own people acknowledge Gaza was a massive problem, the campaign's own deputy manager compared it to a rotting fish, and the official autopsy just... pretends it didn't happen. This is the political equivalent of going to the doctor because your arm fell off and getting a report back that says "patient appears healthy, no issues detected."

The report also managed to botch basic facts that a Google search could verify. It claimed Democrats won two gubernatorial races in 2024. They actually won three. It stated that Midwest states like Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin "had consistently and reliably voted for Democratic candidates" — apparently forgetting that all three voted for Trump in 2016. The DNC's own annotations flagged these errors with notes like "data appears to be inaccurate and contradicts public reporting." They're fact-checking their own autopsy. In real time. In the margins.

Democratic strategist Steve Schale summed it up perfectly, calling the whole thing "an unmitigated s---show" that gave him "no confidence in the competence in the DNC." Rep. Mark Veasey, Democrat from Texas, went further: "There doesn't seem to be a plan to turn things around and the clock is ticking. November is literally around the corner. I believe it's time for him to move on" — referring to Martin's leadership.

The report did manage to identify a few things that anyone with a functioning brain already knew. The Harris campaign's "not Trump" strategy "proved insufficient amid affordability crisis." Voters cared about the economy. The White House stuck Harris with immigration duties without political training, letting Republicans brand her the "border czar." And that ad featuring Harris supporting taxpayer-funded sex change surgeries for transgender inmates? The report admits pollsters found the campaign was "boxed in" since the ad used actual video of Harris saying it.

So let's recap: the Democrats spent over a year and who knows how much money to produce a report that's missing entire sections, contains factual errors their own team had to correct in the margins, ignores the single most divisive issue in their coalition, and is so bad their own chairman won't put his name on it. As National Review's Noah Rothman noted, the whole exercise exposes the left's "Gaza excuse" as nonsense — not because Gaza didn't matter, but because the party can't even be honest with itself about what happened.

This isn't an autopsy. It's a coverup with a table of contents.
