Law and order is back in New Jersey, and its new enforcer isn’t wasting any time. Interim U.S. Attorney Alina Habba, President Donald Trump’s former legal powerhouse, just made it crystal clear: no more passes for violent criminals—no matter their age.
In a bold move that’s already making waves from Newark to Trenton, Habba announced that a 14-year-old Bloods gang member who gunned down a Newark police detective will be charged as an adult in federal court. That’s right—a 14-year-old gangster executed a cop, and unlike the soft-on-crime leftists who coddle thugs, Habba isn’t playing games.
“The message is very clear: If you’re a child, I don’t care. If you shoot a cop, you’re getting tried as an adult,” Habba told the New York Post. “I have no tolerance for violence, and we’re gonna clean up New Jersey.”
That’s the America First approach to justice.
While New Jersey law bans adult prosecution for kids under 15, Habba used federal authority to override that loophole, ensuring this cold-blooded killer faces full accountability. The teen is facing charges of murder, attempted murder, and illegal weapons possession after ambushing Detective Joseph Azcona, 26, in his police vehicle during a weapons sting operation last month.
Another officer was also injured in the attack—thankfully surviving, but it was a close call. The ambush sent shockwaves through the law enforcement community, with Newark Mayor Ras Baraka calling the crime a “heinous, callous disregard for humanity.”
It wasn’t just a tragedy—it was a targeted assault on those who protect and serve, and Habba is making it clear that her office will not allow New Jersey to spiral into a lawless, gang-infested war zone.
On Wednesday, Habba joined a multi-agency law enforcement raid in Newark that netted several dangerous fugitives, including another 18-year-old Bloods gang member with a history of weapons charges and a recent double shooting under his belt. This is what happens when Democrat-run cities let crime fester.
But not anymore.
Habba’s mission is simple: bring justice, restore order, and make it known that if you take up arms against police, you will be hunted down, arrested, and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law—no matter how old you are.
And it doesn’t stop with gangs and guns. Habba is also declaring war on human trafficking, one of the most underreported crimes plaguing major cities across the country. In a post on X, she announced the formation of a Human Trafficking Task Force, led by a top Assistant U.S. Attorney with one goal: make sure New Jersey is ready for the 2026 World Cup—and safe for everyone.
“The World Cup will be hosted in New Jersey in 2026 and it will be safe. WE WILL BE READY!” she wrote.
This is the kind of no-nonsense leadership Americans are starving for—especially in a time when woke prosecutors, Soros-funded DAs, and radical leftists are letting criminals roam free, while everyday citizens live in fear. Habba represents the return of sanity, strength, and unapologetic justice.
Under her leadership, New Jersey is no longer a safe haven for gangbangers, child killers, or human traffickers. The Trump effect is in full force—and the bad guys better start running.
