Democrats have been urging supporters to opt for mailed-in ballots this November. They claimed it was the “safest” choice, due to the COVID panic. But countless stories have emerged this year that reveal your ballot is not even a little bit safe in the hands of the USPS. President Trump took the time to explain this reality to the unbelieving media, pointing to many sources.
At this point, it’s pretty ridiculous for anyone to fear going to a polling place because they think they’ll catch a virus. The pandemic has been going on since March. There is no way someone could have been locked up in their homes all this time. People have already been returning to work, going to church, and shopping. How would going to a polling place to vote (which will have the same safety measures as everywhere else) really pose a threat?
Considering most states have early voting, there will be even fewer people you’d encounter.
But for months, Democrats have tried to terrorize Americans into thinking the only way they can vote is with a mailed-in ballot. They tried to secure billions for universal mail-in voting, where the government would have sent ballots to everyone, regardless of whether you asked for one. Most states have an absentee ballot option, but it’s far from safe.
We’ve heard accounts over the year about how many ballots are lost in the mail. In some cases, postal workers have just been throwing ballots away—because they didn’t want them counted. Now, Trump is highlighting several key stories that illustrate this problem.
“We are gravely concerned about the Democrat assault on election integrity,” Donald Trump said.
The president cited the following stories, questioning the integrity and stability of the mail-in voting process:
- In Brooklyn, 25 percent of mail-in ballots were ruled invalid during the June Democrat primary.
- In a New Jersey special election, nearly 20 percent of the ballots were thrown out, and four people are being prosecuted for fraud.
- In a Florida primary, more than 35,000 mail-in ballots were rejected, and over 100,000 ballots were rejected in California.
- In Pennsylvania’s primary, half of the counties were still counting ballots a week after the election.
- The story of discarded military ballots discovered in Pennsylvania, many of them were cast for Trump.
- Reports in Wisconsin of three trays of mail containing absentee ballots were found in a ditch.
- In North Carolina, voters reported receiving two ballots in the mail.
The president also revisited the disastrous results of the 2020 Democrat Iowa caucuses.
“They still don’t really know who the winner is,” Trump said, referring to Iowa. “I think they called somebody eventually but it was many, many, weeks later.” [Source: Breitbart]
The president, actually, only gave the tip of the iceberg. There have been many more times ballots were either lost or mysteriously disappeared. In Georgia, many of the people who requested mail-in ballots during the primaries never got them. Others who sent them back were never counted.
It’s not just lost ballots that are a concern. A flood of mail-in ballots can fall into the wrong hands. Ballot harvesting is just one way fraudsters can rig an election, but there are many ways people can cheat the system—when ballots are just handed out through the mail.
The reality is, voting in person is the only way to guarantee your vote will be counted. Early voting is a safe option for those still worried about COVID, since they’ll less likely to encounter large crowds (we all know November 3 will be a VERY busying voting day).
So, why risk something so important as your vote to people who lose your mail for a living?
