Since leaving office, plenty of Americans have speculated what would come next for Donald Trump. While pundits might like to throw out plenty of rumors, it’s clear that Trump and many from his administration aren’t going anywhere soon. They have formed important groups to preserve conservative values. Others are running for public office. And Trump has been as vocal as ever, even with social media desperately trying to keep him quiet.
Trump has made several appearances since January. His fiery CPAC speech set the record straight on what he’ll be doing over the next few years. He squashed rumors of leaving the GOP. Instead, he will be fighting to ensure the Republican Party takes back Congress in 2022. He has already issued several endorsements for candidates in special races. What do you know? They all won.
Now, Trump is issuing his next endorsement. And it’s for a Republican senator who has boldly opposed the left’s COVID narrative.
Former President Donald Trump on Thursday issued a full-throated reelection endorsement for Sen. Rand Paul.
The Kentucky Republican will be seeking a third term in office during the 2022 election contest.
“Rand Paul has done a fantastic job for our Country, and for the incredible people of Kentucky,” Trump said in the statement. “He fights against the Swamp in Washington, the Radical Left Liberals, and especially the destructive RINOS, of which there are far too many, in Congress.
“Rand will continue to stand up for our great AMERICA FIRST policies because he believes in stopping wasteful spending, defending our Second Amendment rights, and taking care of our Military and our Vets. I am proud to be working with Rand in our battle to Make America Great Again. He has my Complete and Total Endorsement for another term in the U.S. Senate. The Commonwealth of Kentucky has a true champion in Rand Paul,” Trump declared. [Source: Just the News]
President Trump couldn’t have been more supportive of Rand Paul than he was in his endorsement. He praised the Kentucky senator for his years fighting the swamp in Washington.
Paul is best known for being a fiscal hawk, a conservatively strongly opposed to needless government spending. He also fought back when Congress or past presidents tried to get us engaged in overseas conflicts.
More recently, Paul has challenged the left’s narrative about COVID mask mandates and lockdowns. He has fiercely questioned Anthony Fauci’s frequent “doom-and-gloom” claims the media uses to spread fear and hysteria. Paul has openly called Fauci a liar—and for that, we should all love him.
Such a strong endorsement from Trump is sure to ignite strong support for Paul from his home state. Don’t be fooled into thinking Paul is a shoo-in because he comes from Kentucky. Democrats are pulling out all the stops to flip states and steal seats. Currently, they have a Democrat governor who couldn’t be worse.
But it seems Trump is doing more than just endorsing Paul. He says he is “working” with Paul and his team, which means he might even host a rally for the man.
Now, that will really be something.
