Trump Drops Hammer On Democrats Over School Closings

Of everything we’ve learned from the pandemic, we know one thing: that the virus is virtually harmless to young people. Children, in fact, are the least in danger (even from spreading it to others). Yet Democrats in numerous states continue to insist that schools should not open in the Fall. Now, President Trump himself is demanding that schools return this September.

At the height of the COVID fearmongering, nearly every state closed their schools. That included elementary schools, high schools, and colleges. This rash decision was not based on any facts we had. In fact, from the start of this pandemic, we knew that children faced virtually no threat from the disease. Studies showed they were even less likely to spread it to others.

Yet our cowardly governments punished students, in some cases ruining their academic careers, for no reason.

At this point, most Americans want to get back to normal. They are not freaking out over “surging” positive tests, knowing the lockdowns only delayed the inevitable. What they do worry about is what will happen in the Fall. Parents can’t afford to leave their kids at home, while they go to work. More than that, they know their children need a good education, to socialize with other kids, and to GET OUT OF THE HOUSE.

But pathetic Democrats refuse to commit to school reopening’s. So, Trump is dropping the hammer.

President Trump pushed for schools to reopen this fall in a series of tweets Monday afternoon, accusing Democrats of wanting to keep schools shut “for political reasons.”

“SCHOOLS MUST OPEN IN THE FALL!!!” Trump first tweeted.

“Corrupt Joe Biden and the Democrats don’t want to open schools in the Fall for political reasons, not for health reasons!” he later added. “They think it will help them in November. Wrong, the people get it!”

The American Academy of Pediatrics has “strongly advocated” that children return to schools. They do not recommend continuing “online” classes, which have not been a resounding success for children. They went on to say that long-term, at-home learning can hamper a child’s social and emotional skills. Not to mention their diet, exercise, and mental health support.

When have health experts or teachers say it’s good for kids to be cooped up inside? Entire organizations are dedicated to getting kids away from the computer and TV and get moving. Yet out of fear of this flu, our media and governments have urged children to do the very thing that would hurt their development.

And it continues to this day. While some states have committed to reopening in the Fall, many have not. It makes no sense. Many suggest it has less to do with children’s well-being and more with what the overly powerful, corrupt teachers unions want. They are less concerned with the quality of students’ education and more about their own comfort and benefits.

Kind of sounds like the opposite of what teachers should be caring about, huh? Shouldn’t teachers be eager to get children back into the classroom, so they can learn and grow? Why would these people shut down the very places they work?

Unless they are part of a crooked system that puts adults ahead of kids?

President Trump is pushing for schools to reopen in the Fall. And his administration will probably work to make that a reality. But he cannot force the hands of governors who are too cowardly, corrupt, or stupid to do the right thing.

The only real way these politicians will reopen schools, is if parents speak out. If the American people demand a return to normalcy, local leaders will have no choice.

That is, of course, if they want to keep their jobs.
