As President Joe Biden’s campaign used the conservative research tank’s recommendations against him, Republican presidential contender Donald Trump attacked the Heritage Foundation’s policy suggestions for his fictitious second term in office.
At a gathering on Saturday in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Trump said, “Some on the right, severe right, came up with this Project ’25.” “I have no idea. Sure, I know who some of them are, but they’re really, really conservative. They resemble the extreme left’s antithesis in certain ways. There are two radical groups: the radical left and the radical right.”
He said, “They read some of the things, and they are excessive. They are indeed severe, but I lack the necessary knowledge to fully comprehend them. I have no interest in learning more about them, as all they do is spread misinformation.”
To show the voters what a second Trump administration may look like, the Biden campaign has emphasized Project 2025, which the former president and his campaign have attempted to distance themselves from.
“There was a promise of a new Donald Trump who would bring the country together, but what we witnessed tonight was the same Donald that Americans have consistently rejected: he is spreading false information, leading a campaign of retaliation and revenge, endorsing the same failed policies, and— as usual— he is only thinking about himself,” Biden campaign spokesman Ammar Moussa told reporters. “Just J.D. Vance, Donald Trump, and their Project 2025 agenda showed unity today.”
“In April 2022, we established the 2025 Presidential Transition Project, also known as Project 2025, to lay the groundwork for Trump’s second transition, which had been chaotic under his leadership before his election in 2017.” The project’s initiatives to concentrate presidential power, which include abolishing the Department of Education and giving more political appointees at the Justice Department greater authority, have drawn the greatest criticism.
“During the Biden administration, woke ideology has hijacked our institutions, invaded our border, and militarized the federal government against American individuals,” stated Heritage Foundation President Kevin Roberts in a statement last month. The House Democrats’ task team only serves to highlight the Left’s concern that their authoritarian bureaucracy may slip from their control.
Roberts said, “They’re more than welcome to try if their plan is to use fear tactics instead of addressing the legitimate concerns of Americans over the unaffordable cost of living, rampant crime, border crisis, and worldwide turmoil created by their left-wing policies.” “We’re going to win, and we won’t give up.”
