Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell has apparently secured the defeat of Nancy Pelosi’s ultra-partisan January 6 Commission – which aimed to further condemn the Former President for his “role” in Capitol protests on that day.
The leading Senate Republican reportedly whipped enough votes to ensure Nancy’s plot to take down Trump is Dead on Arrival.
When asked about the possibility of the Senate passing Pelosi’s Jan 6 commission, Minority Whip Sen. John Thune said, “Absolutely not. The House-passed version won’t have the 10 GOP votes by a long shot.”
McConnell and Senate GOP leaders have been confident for days that 10 senators wouldn’t break ranks. McConnell’s argument, which he’s voiced publicly and privately, is that the commission probe would become an issue in the midterms — and that has been the prevailing view among Rs

Senate Democrats are raging at the lack of bipartisan support for the commission. Democrat Sen. Jon Tester expressed extreme anger at those Republicans who refuse to get on board Nancy’s partisan witch hunt.
“Jesus. It’s a nonpartisan investigation of what happened and we have to get the bottom of it right now. If these Republicans are so afraid of Trump, then they need to leave of office. It’s bullshit. If you can’t make tough decisions as an elected official then you shouldn’t be here,” Sen. Tester said angrily.
It was reported this week that Democrats needed to secure at least 10 Republican votes to pass the measure, but revealed to only securing four ‘yes’ votes.
The GOP lawmakers willing to work with Democrats on the commission are the typical RINOs you often witness blaming Trump for the Jan 6 events:
Sens. Lisa Murkowski, Mitt Romney, Bill Cassidy, and Susan Collins. However, these lawmakers may want to think twice before supporting such a partisan commission as Trump will soon hit the road in an effort to weed out party RINOs who routinely obstruct popular America First policies.
Collins acknowledged that even her proposed changes might not get the bill over the finish line. They could help sway some Republicans, she said, but for those standing against a commission “in any form,” her amendment would not “change their underlying opposition.”

The reported whipped “no” votes include Sens. Richard Burr (R-NC), Jerry Moran (R-KS), Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV), Thom Tillis (R-NC), and Rob Portman (R-OH).
Former President Donald Trump released a opposing Nancy’s commission, calling the measure a “trap.”
