Following a threat from the first son to sue the network, Fox News deleted the Hunter Biden documentary series on Tuesday.
“As of 2022, this show has been available to the public,” the network informed reporters in a statement. “We are taking a close look at the recently brought up issues and have removed them in the meantime as a precaution.”
Last week, Hunter’s legal team threatened to sue Fox News and the network’s miniseries “The Trial of Hunter Biden” if it did not delete “hacked” and “intimate” photographs from its website. The program details Hunter’s commercial endeavors.
Hunter’s lawyers sent a letter last week stating, “FOX understands that these private and personal photos were hacked, stolen, and/or modified digital content.”
“FOX has unlawfully used Mr. Biden’s image, name, and likeness for commercial purposes and recklessly distributed salacious pictures featuring Mr. Biden while concurrently seeking to profit while frequently defaming and insulting Mr. Biden,” the attorneys went on.
Despite Hunter’s assertions that the photos were “hacked,” the Justice Department verified in January that the information on his laptop matched what the police had discovered after obtaining an iCloud search order.
Hunter allegedly handed the laptop over to the FBI after leaving it at a computer shop for repairs, according to the DOJ.
Furthermore, the “chain of possession of that laptop has been thoroughly established,” according to Miranda Devine of the New York Post.
Fox News informed Breitbart News on Tuesday that their story was “constitutionally protected coverage” of a public person.
“The attorneys for Hunter Biden have finally decided to criticize Fox News for its constitutionally protected coverage of their client. Two separate US Attorney’s Offices in Delaware and California have charged Mr. Biden, a well-known individual who has acknowledged several instances of misconduct. Fox News has properly reported these widely reported events in accordance with the First Amendment, as has the subsequent indictment of an FBI informant who served as the basis for some of the allegations made against Mr. Biden.”
