Republicans Unveil Plan To Steal Majority From Pelosi

House Republican leadership announced a plan that will likely send Nancy Pelosi packing.

The lawmakers released a list of 47 Democratic districts to be targeted in the 2022 midterm elections. Republicans have devised a series of groups, compartmentalizing targeted Democrat districts based on Biden’s performance in the 2020 election.

The ‘Battleground Democrats’ group are for those districts that Joe Biden lost or where the presidential or congressional margin was less than 5%. The “Underperforming Democrats” group are for those districts in which Biden may have one but by less than 10%. The “Redistricting Watch” group are for Democrats at risk of the 2020 census causing their districts to be redrawn.

By November 2020, most predictions had Republicans fairing even worse than 2018 when Democrats’ “blue wave” successfully provided them with a 35 seat House majority.

But Republicans held the line and won big. Of all the incumbent Republicans up for reelection, not a single race was lost. Not only that, the Republicans toppled 13 incumbent Democrats, resulting in the smallest majority since the 30’s. These numbers, combined with the trend of opposite party success in midterms, puts Republicans in a fighting position to re-gain House majority.

The Republican plan for midterm success includes expanding on their strategy of outing the Democrats for their radical agenda, tying incumbents up for reelection to the rampant socialism so pervasive today.

Joe Biden is not helping the Democrats’ cause either. The economic fallout from his endless executive orders, from the Keystone Pipeline to immigration,  will become prime material for the Republicans to use as campaign fodder.

Despite their favorable midterm position, Republicans do face a strategic problem: President Trump. Given Trump’s grassroots popularity, it would be wise for Republicans to seize the special opportunity to back the former president during his second impeachment hoax. While he won’t be featured at the top of the ticket, there’s no question Republican voters will back candidates that support America’s most popular president.
