Putin Pulls a Trudeau–Arrests Citizens Who Protest His Regime

This week, Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered an invasion into Ukraine. It was the first major military action in Europe for decades. World leaders quickly condemned the actions, but actual attempts to push back Russia are nowhere. Joe Biden talked big about sanctions and a “swift” response, but it doesn’t seem like anyone is willing to get their hands dirty confronting Putin.

Donald Trump discussed the horrific crisis unfolding overseas, explaining that Putin is doing this because of Biden’s weakness. Joe Biden refused to stand up to Putin a month ago, directly triggering the events we are seeing today. It’s unclear how NATO or the EU will respond or if anything they do will actually hurt Russia. It seems the only people willing to stand up to the tyrant are Russians themselves. And they are already paying for it.

The Russian Investigative Committee, a Russian federal agency tasked with investigating various matters of corruption, has warned its citizens not to participate in any anti-war protests after President Vladimir Putin announced Wednesday night that Russia would be launching a “special military operation” in Ukraine…

On Thursday, CNN reported that Russia issued a statement warning that Russian individuals in connection “with the spread of calls for participation in riots and rallies related to the tense foreign policy situation,” would suffer “negative legal consequences”  such as prosecution and criminal liability…

According to foreign affairs reporter Guy Elster with Walla News, Russia has already arrested one anti-war activist…

There were reports on social media of minor peace protests across Russia, with demonstrators chanting various slogans.

“In the center of Yekaterinburg, people are chanting ‘No to war!’” tweeted Lyubov Sobol, a prominent critic of the Russian government. [Source: Daily Wire]

The people of Russia have more courage than Joe Biden. While he talks big from the safety of the White House, they are standing up to Putin in Russia. And Putin’s police are already making threats and arresting those who oppose his hostile activity against Ukraine. The Russia agency—which sounds more like a secret police—made stern threats against anyone in the country that dares stand up to putin.

They warned protestors that “holding a criminal record” could led to “negative consequences.” Hmm… doesn’t sound ominious at all. Yet all these people are doing are calling out Putin’s unprovoked attack against a sovereign land. They know it could result in an arrest or worse, but they cleary don’t fear Putin.

So, why does Biden? Why is Biden so unwilling to push back against this wanna emperor, who is wrongfully trying to annex Ukraine?
