Donald will hand-deliver this award, too!

President Donald Trump never misses an opportunity to honor America’s heroes.

Remember his passionate D-Day anniversary speech?

That was just one example, of course; Trump loves to offer praise and accolades to those who have sacrificed so much.

And now, Trump is prepared to deliver one of the nation’s highest honors to an Iraq War veteran.

But here’s the kicker — that brave veteran is alive.

That’s right, Army staff sergeant David Bellavia will receive the Medal of Honor, and he’ll be the first living recipient from the Iraq War to receive that award.

Trump doesn’t just want to honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice – he wants to pay tribute to those who still live!

And Bellavia has definitely earned it. From The Hill:

“Bellavia was clearing a block of houses in Fallujah as part of Operation Phantom Fury when his unit was pinned down, the White House said.

He provided cover fire so that he and other members of his squad could exit safely.”

But wait, it gets better:

Bellavia entered an insurgent-held house and took out 5 insurgent fighters all by himself!

He essentially cleared an insurgent strongpoint single-handedly AND saved “many members of his platoon from imminent threat.”

How’s that for a true-blue hero?!

As I said, Bellavia will be the first Iraq War survivor to earn the Medal of Honor; 5 other servicemen received the award posthumously.

And Trump will hand-deliver this amazing honor to Bellavia at a ceremony on June 25.

A President who loves our Veterans is exactly what this country always needs, wouldn’t you agree?
