John Bolton, former national security advisor, has written a “bombshell” book aimed at slandering the president. Already, critics are tearing the book apart, which supposedly exposes secrets from the Trump administration. Democrats and Republicans don’t seem impressed. And now, Mike Pompeo is weighing in.
This isn’t the first supposed “tell-all” book that tries to reveal what really goes on within the White House. Several others, from liberal media journalists, have been released over the years. Without fail they all quickly disappear, after critics expose them and their writers as total frauds.
It seems liberals will go to any lengths to slam President Trump, even invent stories about what they’ve seen—or heard about—within the White House. I guess they thought, “Hey, our garbage reporting is so bad, people don’t believe it. So, let’s write books to spread even more lies!”
John Bolton was fired for allegedly trying to push a war with Iran. After losing his job, he suddenly became an outspoken Trump critic. Yet, when asked to testify against the man during the Democrats’ impeachment probe, Bolton declined. Only now, right before the election, is he publishing a book aimed at hurting Trump.
But Secretary of State Mike Pompeo is setting the record straight. And he’s pulling no punches.
Secretary of State Mike Pompeo dove into the controversy surrounding former national security adviser John Bolton’s new book, “The Room Where it Happened,” Thursday – declaring “I Was in the Room Too.”
“It is both sad and dangerous that John Bolton’s final public role is that of a traitor who damaged America by violating his sacred trust with its people,” Pompeo said in a statement…

Pompeo torches the book, saying it’s full of lies and “outright falsehoods.” He should know, since he said he was in “the room” too. The secretary of state is in the best position to debunk Bolton’s wild claims, since he would have worked with Trump on the same policies Bolton is referring to.
Details that are emerging from the book sound more like the fantasies of the left, not facts. It’s hard not to believe Bolton is simply inventing stories to sell his book, than exposing anything real. And there’s a good reason to believe why: as national security advisor, he has knowledge of classified information.
The White House and Justice Department both warned Bolton that if he released sensitive information, he could be in for some big trouble. Bolton knows that and he’s not about to go to jail over some bogus book.
It’s much more likely he loaded his book with made up nonsense, to entice Democrats suffering from Trump Derangement Syndrome. But it seems even Democrats aren’t warming up to Bolton. Nancy Pelosi herself condemned Bolton’s book (because its critical of her impeachment push). And, as with other books, critics are reluctant to believe any claims that are unsubstantiated.
You really have to wonder why Bolton is doing any of this. Is he really such a disgruntled ex-employee that he’d lie, just to spite Trump? Is he trying to cash in on his short time in the Trump administration? Does he really think Americans will believe anything he’s saying, without a shred of proof?
Pompeo is calling Bolton a traitor, for releasing a book that seeks to damage Trump. After all his years of service, both in the United Nations and White House, Bolton might only be remembered for how he tried to destroy the president.
But that’s what you get, when you try to cash in on lies.
