Nancy Pelosi signaled she would be willing to unseat Rep. Marianette Miller-Meeks, winner of Iowa’s 2nd Congressional District race. The incoming Rep. won her seat by just six votes.
The Democratic-led House Administration Committee is currently reviewing the results of the election, but Pelosi informed reporters the Committee is “following the law.”
Democrat Rita Hart is contesting her loss to Miller-Meeks. Her concern comes amid growing concerns over the legitimacy of the 2020 presidential election. She believes 22 ballots were wrongfully discarded, leaving her fate up to the House Administration Committee.
House Administration Republicans are pressuring Democrats in the committee to discard Hart’s request to contest the election results.
Miller-Meeks’ seat is crucial to the Democrats as they only hold a narrow majority in the House.
