Law enforcement officials said that a guy from Las Vegas was taken into custody at a checkpoint close to former President Trump’s Coachella rally. The individual was discovered to be in possession of many firearms.
Vem Miller, 49, “was found to be in illegally possession of a handgun, a shotgun, and a high-capacity magazine,” according to a press release issued by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office on Sunday.
The Press-Telegram was informed by Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco that “Miller had fake VIP and press passes.”
Bianco stated, “We most likely prevented another assassination attempt.”
Miller was in a “black SUV at a checkpoint” close to the rally when deputies assigned to Trump’s Coachella event encountered him. They found that Miller was allegedly in possession of multiple handguns illegally and that he had been “taken into custody without any incident,” according to the press release.
According to the press announcement, Miller was “later brought to the John J. Benoit Detention Center for his possession of a loaded gun and a high-capacity magazine.”
The Press-Telegram was informed by Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco that “Miller presented fake VIP and press passes at the checkpoint.”
“Sources close to the Trump team said to Fox News that there was no assassination attempt against Donald Trump at his rally yesterday,” Bill Melugin of Fox News stated on Sunday. “According to reports, a man brandishing a gun was apprehended without any problems at the event’s perimeter.”
