The fatal shooting of Ma’Khia Bryant has reinvigorated mass anti-cop hysteria on the Left, but a witness to the incident, and Bryant’s neighbor, is setting the record straight.
“I brushed it off at first, thinking it was just a girl fight. They were calling each other the B-word and all that stuff,” said Donovan Brinson
Brinson told police he took his dog outside to the backyard as the yelling grew louder. When police arrived, he recalled hearing four gun shots, frightening his wife inside the home.
He quickly thought of the security camera attached to the garage. He watched the now-viral footage with disbelief. Brinson’s surveillance camera was able to capture the entire knife fight between Bryant and the two other females.
“It was violent and all just happened so fast,” Brinson recalled.
In full cooperation with law enforcement, Brinson handed his footage over to the police, saying, “More people would have died if that cop didn’t act.”
Body cam footage released by the Columbus Police Department on Tuesday confirmed Brinson’s story.

“I believe in truth and facts. Video doesn’t lie,” he noted, adding, “She was in full attack mode.”
Bryant was “aiming a knife at this young lady with the intention of harming her,” he said of the girl wearing pink. “At that point she needed to be stopped. Lives were at stake.”
