Vice President-elect JD Vance didn’t hold back during his appearance on Fox News Sunday, ripping into the dumpster fire that Joe Biden’s administration is leaving behind for Donald Trump. It’s a mess so big you’d think it was intentional—but then again, with Democrats, it probably was.
“I wish Joe Biden all the best,” Vance began, because he’s a gentleman like that. But the pleasantries ended quickly as he laid out the reality: Biden’s administration hasn’t just stumbled; it’s driven the country into a ditch. “The fact is he has left us a dumpster fire, not just at the border but also with the economy,” Vance said. And he’s right. Inflation is strangling American families, prices are skyrocketing, and the only thing growing faster than the national debt is the size of Hunter Biden’s legal team.

Biden’s so-called leadership has added trillions to the federal debt during peacetime, Vance pointed out. “How are we going to finance that debt?” he asked, noting that Biden’s policies have made U.S. Treasury bonds more expensive, further burdening the economy. This is what happens when Democrats think money grows on trees—or in the case of Biden, when he’s too busy napping to care where it comes from.
But it’s not just the debt. Oil prices have surged in Biden’s final months in office, thanks to his catastrophic energy policies. From killing pipelines to bowing to green activists who probably think Teslas grow on wind farms, Biden’s energy agenda has been an unmitigated disaster. “He actually hasn’t left the American people in good economic condition,” Vance said. That’s why the people spoke loud and clear and sent Donald Trump back to the White House to clean up the mess.
Still, Vance remains optimistic about America. “I will always be an optimist about our country,” he said, before adding the blunt truth: “But that optimism has to start with a bit of realism, and the real truth is that Joe Biden has left us a dumpster fire.” Thankfully, Donald Trump has proven he knows how to put out fires. Whether it’s a smoldering economy or a southern border in flames, Trump isn’t afraid to roll up his sleeves and get to work.
Democrats had four years to prove they could lead, and what did they give us? A border in chaos, an economy on life support, and gas prices that would make a Californian blush. But America chose wisely in 2024, sending Biden into retirement and giving Trump the chance to rebuild what Democrats burned down. As Vance said, “Donald Trump will have to put it out—but he’s good at doing that.”
