Idiot O’Rourke Promises to Take AR-15S From Texans

Once again Francis O’Rourke (who calls himself “Beto” to trick Hispanic voters into thinking he’s a minority), is running for public office. He lost in 2018 to Sen. Ted Cruz. He lost in 2020 against Joe Biden. What’s worse, Biden never gave him a spot in his administration.

The guy gave Pete Buttigieg a job. That’s pretty pathetic, Francis.

Now, O’Rourke is trying to run for governor in the reddest state in America (next to Florida). He had his work cut out for him, since he once said “Hell, yes” to the question, “Will you take Americans’ guns away.”

He tried to hide that agenda early on. But now, he’s off the reservation—promising to take away Texans’ AR-15s.

Texas gubernatorial hopeful Beto O’Rourke (D) has flipped again, saying on Tuesday that he did not believe Americans who already owned AR-15s and AK-47s should “be able to keep them.”

This marks the second time O’Rourke has flipped on the issue recently, as he announced several months ago that he had abandoned one issue that had been the centerpiece of his failed 2020 presidential bid: gun confiscation, at least when it came to the AR-15.

“I’m not interested in taking anything from anyone. What I want to make sure that we do is defend the Second Amendment…” he said in November of 2021 as he campaigned for governor in the state of Texas…

“I think we are fools to believe anything other than that these weapons of war will continued to be used with greater frequency against our fellow Americans,” O’Rourke said at an Abilene town hall on May 21. “It’s why I’ve taken the position that I don’t think we should have AR-15s and AK-47s in civilian life. They belong on a battlefield.” [Source: Daily Wire]

Moron. The claim that a semi-automatic rifle like an AR-15 is a “weapon of war” can only be said of someone who doesn’t know a thing about firearms. AR-15s are the civilian version of the M16. No soldier in his right mind would be caught dead with an AR-15 (because they would be dead). To equate a civilian firearm with a military weapon is something only an idiot or a liar would do.

But that misses the real point. All firearms are weapons of war. Re-read the Second Amendment. That’s why we bear arms, in case we need to defend our country (even against a corrupt government). To say that we shouldn’t have a gun because it is used in war opens the door to ban all firearms—since even handguns are carried by servicemen.

I find it hilarious that a man like O’Rourke thinks banning AR-15s is a winning platform in Texas. Once upon a time, Democrats running in red states at least pretended to care about things like the Second Amendment, family values, church, and our history.

Today, they are not even hiding their disdain for our ways of life and beliefs. A far-left progressive like O’Rourke is telling one of the biggest Second Amendment states in the country that he wants to take away the most popular semi-automatic firearm on the market.

This is the same state that just recently lifted permit requirements for concealed carry. What is O’Rourke thinking? Not that he’s going to win, that’s for sure.

He must be getting used to losing with no dignity.
