Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said that if mail-in voting caused the November election to “drag out,” Democrats should be prepared for a legal battle.
Clinton spoke with former aide Jennifer Palmieri about the upcoming election and how she would advise former Vice President Joe Biden to proceed, especially in the event that the fight transitioned from the ballot box to the courts.
“I think that [Republicans] have a couple of scenarios that they are looking toward. One is messing up absentee balloting. They believe that helps them so that they then get maybe a narrow advantage in the Electoral College on Election Day,” Clinton claimed. “So we’ve got to have a massive legal operation, and I know the Biden campaign is working on that.”
“Joe Biden should not concede under any circumstances because I think this is going to drag out, and eventually, I do believe he will win if we don’t give an inch and if we are as focused and relentless as the other side is,” Clinton concluded as Palmieri raised her fists in the air.
Clinton has previously suggested that Trump would refuse to leave office if he lost in November, telling The 19th Represents Summit,”I don’t want to scare people, but I want you to be prepared. I have every reason to believe that Trump is not going to go, you know, silently into the night if he loses. He’s going to try to confuse us, he’s going to try to bring all kinds of lawsuits, he’s got his crony Attorney General (William) Barr ready to do whatever is necessary.”
