There is no proof that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu attempted to meddle in U.S. elections, but House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) supported Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) over the weekend for interfering in Israeli elections last week.
Pelosi made the comments when discussing Netanyahu’s reply to Schumer’s attempt to influence the outcome of the Israeli elections during an interview with CNNÂ on Sunday.
“It’s interesting to observe Netanyahu’s behavior when he attempted to meddle in American elections,” Pelosi asserted. “He denounced the president of the US, invaded our nation, and meddled in our elections, but that’s another topic.”
“In any case, let’s set that aside for the moment and go on: what’s wrong with supporting democratic elections? Also, you are aware. You brought up the surveys. Thousands upon thousands of Israelis took to the streets even as recently as yesterday night, she said. But, once again, we live in a democratic society where individuals are free to express their diverse opinions, which is truly remarkable. What does it say about him that he won’t even declare that the Israeli people should speak as the conflict draws to a close? Chuck didn’t say anything beyond that.”
