Joe Biden is throwing in the towel on the border crisis he enacted. Instead of managing the migrant surge head on, he’s passing the responsibility to his Vice President, Kamala Harris.
Biden announced on Wednesday his appointment of Kamala to lead their administration’s efforts to address the border crisis. Harris is set to tackle such issues as the surge of unaccompanied minors, over-crowded migrant facilities, and even U.S. relationships with Latin American leaders.
“When she speaks, she speaks for me,” Biden revealed.

Kamala Harris has repeatedly indicated she was in favor of legalizing undocumented border crossings. She sparked immediate backlash in 2018 when she compared ICE to the KKK.
Harris will serve as the diplomatic point person in talks with Mexico and the “Northern Triangle” countries in Latin America – Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador – where the bulk of illegal immigrants originate from.
As a Senator, Kamala often contradicted herself on certain border policies.
During a presidential primary debate in 2019, she was among the Democrats to raise their hand in favor of decriminalizing undocumented border crossing. When conservative talk show host Megan McCain asked her about it, Harris lied and denied it, though she stated the immigration laws shouldn’t be so strongly enforced.
“I would not make it a crime punishable by jail. It should be a civil enforcement issue but not a criminal enforcement issue,” she said.
She sparked immense outrage in 2018 when, during a Senate hearing with acting ICE director, she compared the law enforcement agency to the KKK.
