Perhaps the biggest fallout of the 2020 Election is that Joe Biden will be able to implement all his many horrible plans for the United States. The so-called “moderate” Democrat frequently spoke of pushing ideas that can only be described as left-wing.
The incoming Democrat has vowed to battle climate change, which means he’ll attack the fossil fuel industry—the backbone of our economy and energy supply. Biden wants to embrace open borders, effectively undoing any immigration protections and reforms.
And he wants to raise taxes on the wealthy, which will result in the closing of businesses, the loss of jobs, and the contracting of wages.
It’s unlikely most Americans (whether they voted for Biden or not) want to see such plans made into reality. But with a slim majority in Congress, Democrats have free rein to do as they please, the will of the people be damned.
So, one state is already getting prepared to oppose the Biden administration.
Texas is reportedly preparing for lawsuits against Joe Biden’s incoming administration…
During his first 100 days in office, President-elect Joe Biden has “vowed to roll back the Trump administration’s immigration crackdown, push policies addressing climate change and potentially forgive student debt for thousands of Americans…”
“Texas is almost certain to fight him every step of the way”
The state is about to be back on the front lines battling against the federal government, a long tradition for its Republican leaders, from former Gov. Rick Perry to Gov. Greg Abbott — who as the state’s attorney general famously said, “I go into the office, I sue the federal government and I go home.” [Source: Breitbart]
Gov. Abbott promised the state will “take action whenever the federal government encroaches on state’s rights… or the right to earn a living.”
That seems to suggest Texas will even sue over the raising of taxes, something that is not as common. Often a state will sue the federal government over issues like immigration and climate change. These issues can often impact a state’s economy or population, not to mention things like law and order. But taxes are often off-limits, as those tax increases can result in more federal funding for states.
Texas might be eager to oppose Biden’s tax hikes, because they have benefited from lower taxes for years. Many businesses have flocked to Texas because of their low taxes and welcoming economy. But a sharp spike from the Biden administration can hamper that growth.
What remains to be seen is how successful Texas or any state will be in opposing the Biden administration. We saw for four years Democrats sue Trump over his measures, but those were often executive orders. With Congress backing Biden, it will be harder for the states to overturn his policies. We’ve seen in recent weeks how unreliable the courts are, even with Trump’s judges in place.
The American people might be powerless to stop Biden’s radical agenda.
