Michigan Senate Candidate's Own Staffer Quits, Calls Him a 'Manufactured Man' Who 'Loves to Fart in Public'

Jordan Domingue spent two years protecting Abdul El-Sayed. He took pay cuts totaling $50,000 across two campaigns — first the failed gubernatorial run, then the Michigan Democratic U.S. Senate race. He served as personal assistant, shield, and fixer for a man he now describes as an entitled fraud with "cartoonishly fake masculinity."

Domingue isn't just leaving. He founded "Democrats for Mike Rogers."

Domingue, a USMC combat veteran, went on the record with a portrait of Abdulrahman Mohamed El-Sayed that his polished progressive branding was never supposed to let you see: a candidate who "pushed multiple staff to tears," acted like "an entitled mobster" toward elected officials during 2017-2018, and whose claim of "10 years of public service experience" Domingue flatly disputes as false.

"His masculinity is a performance, and he has the maturity to match it," Domingue said.

That's not a note from a low level employee who only interacted with El-Sayed occasionally. This is coming from the guy who ran his daily schedule.

The details get worse. Domingue alleges that an animal control facility under El-Sayed's oversight operated as what he called a "slaughterhouse," killing more than 4,000 puppies and kittens. El-Sayed's own words on animals, per Domingue: "I have a weird relationship with animals, I don't know what they are thinking." Meanwhile, the Wayne County Deputy Sheriff's Association endorsed El-Sayed on July 28 — an endorsement that sits awkwardly against Domingue's claim of a consistent "history of disrespect toward law enforcement" and the detail that El-Sayed's half-sister was charged with assault on law enforcement.

Domingue went further on foreign policy, alleging El-Sayed holds antisemitic positions and support for Hamas and Hezbollah. "His foreign policy was driven by a desire to invoke what seemed like misplaced revenge," Domingue said. For a Senate candidate in Michigan — a state with one of the largest Arab-American populations in the country — that framing carries a specific weight that goes beyond standard campaign trail mudslinging.

The progressive populist brand El-Sayed built — the physician-turned-public-servant fighting for working families — depends on voters never hearing from the people who actually worked for him. The man who protected him for two years, absorbed $50,000 in personal pay cuts to keep the operation running, and watched the performance from inches away looked at the act and walked.

He didn't just walk. He crossed the aisle and started organizing Democrats for the Republican.
