This week, we learned the news that Jussie Smollett, former actor and hate crime hoaxer, was set free after being charged with criminal behavior. Americans were stunned to learn that prosecutors dropped all charges against the man—despite him lying to the country over a fake attack. But now we are learning clues as to what really happened. Looks like a former Obama ally might have twisted justice.
Way back in February, we were treated with the news that Empire cast member and outspoken gay actor, Jussie Smollett, was attack in Chicago. He claimed that two white men, wearing MAGA hats, attacked him and splashed bleach in his face. Of course, they shouting “This is MAGA country!”
Immediately the liberal media, especially LGTB blogs, jumped on the story. Without verifying any details of the supposed attack, they blamed President Trump and conservatives. They claimed it was yet another act of violence by Trump supporters—despite the fact that every major story about Trump supporters committing hate crimes has been faked.
We learned that police were combing through thousands of hours of video footage in the area of the supposed attack. But certain things didn’t add up.
Turns out, there was no proof of the attack. In fact, police quickly arrested two black men for their involvement. Shortly after, Jussie Smollett himself was arrested and condemned by the police for filing a false police report.
Americans were disgusted that a wealthy, successful actor would stoop so low. We were even more shocked that the media was so quick to push this story as fact, just to hurt Trump and conservatives. (Okay, I guess we really weren’t shocked about that, were we?)
We hoped that justice would be served and this episode would teach liberals not to continue stage fake crimes just to smear he president.
But in a shocking twist of events, prosecutors dropped all charges against the man and let him walk free. The chief of police of the CPD, as well as Mayor Rahm Emanuel, were outraged. As were many Americans.
How could they just let this man go, after what he did to this country? But it looks like a former Obama aid had a hand in fixing this case.
Tina Tchen, the attorney and former chief of staff to first lady Michelle Obama, has garnered scrutiny after messages traded with Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx — about the alleged hoax linked to actor Jussie Smollett — emerged shortly before prosecutors dropped all charges against Smollett on Tuesday…
Public records obtained by the Chicago Sun-Times showed that Tchen sent Foxx an early-morning text on Feb. 1 saying she “wanted to give you a call on behalf of Jussie Smollett and family who I know. They have concerns about the investigation…”
Later that day, the Sun-Times reported that a relative of Smollett sent Foxx a text, sparking a relationship that eventually led to Foxx recusing herself from the investigation and prosecution. Foxx also was shown to have emailed Tchen: “Spoke to [Chicago Police] Superintendent [Eddie] Johnson. I convinced him to reach out to FBI to ask that they take over the investigation. He is reaching out now and will get to me shortly.” [Source: Fox News]
Soon after all this back-and-forth, prosecutors dropped the charges against Smollett. Coincidence? We might never know. But it reminds me of a similar case. One where the FBI was investigating a certain former secretary of state’s private email server. We learned that her husband—former President Bill Clinton—secretly met with then Attorney General Loretta Lynch. The next day, the FBI dropped their case.
What’s the deal with Democrats pulling strings to help each other out? Doesn’t justice matter? Smollett faked a hate crime. That’s a serious offense. Worse than that, he smeared the President of the United States and millions of Americans. He shoved a wedge between white and black people, gay and straight people, and liberals and conservatives.
All to boost his career.
Yet because of an Obama lawyer, the man walks free? That dog won’t hunt, friend.
We might not have all the details, but I really doubt nothing shady happened, thanks to Tchen. Don’t you?
