“President Trump was there for Gold Star families who lost children because of the disastrous Biden-Harris withdrawal from Afghanistan,” Gold Star mothers said on the War Room podcast.
Doolittle spoke out against Vice President Kamala Harris’s rude comments about Gold Star families on Saturday, after they asked Trump to remember their children at Arlington National Cemetery. She said, “They politicize everything.”
“They just made everything wrong and said, ‘He’s doing it wrong.’ He’s not following the rules… It’s not true.” She said, “It’s just a lie. This is what President Trump said about our kids and everyone else: Trump is the only one who takes the time to meet with and talk to our 13 kids’ families, respect them, and say their names, she said, adding that Trump knows the names of all 13 of her children.”
Barnett said it was she who asked the Trump team to come to Arlington National Cemetery that day to honor the children of Gold Star families.
“The day was lovely. From the very beginning, President Trump has been a source of peace, a rock to lean on, and an ear to listen. It was a beautiful day.” This was in response to Harris’s attempt to politicize Trump’s visit on social media, which other Gold Star families found shocking.
“They were aware that we wanted pictures… They knew from the start,” she said, adding that they wanted them for people who couldn’t be there:
“We didn’t break any rules. Nothing wrong happened. They can’t stand the fact that Trump did something they can’t do. They hate him, so they will throw knives at him no matter what. Then they start throwing knives at us Gold Star families.”
She talked about how it makes you wonder what Democrats can’t hate and attack.
“Gold Star families are off limits, and they throw knives, so their hate for him [Trump] is beyond anything you can think. It’s sickening, because, as I said, it was such a beautiful day,” Barnett said. “The service was lovely, and it made our hearts feel better. For a few hours, I was at peace.”
