Democratic candidate for president, Pete Buttigieg, is struggling to break from the pack. He is trying to win over as many young, uninformed voters as possible. Perhaps that’s why he made a wild—and largely false—claim about our Founding Fathers and slavery. Sen. Ted Cruz was on hand to put him in his place.
You can say that Democrats count on their supporters knowing very little about our history. And you’d be right. Thanks to public school it seems, many Americans know nothing about our founding nor the men who wrote the Constitution. Most of these people end up voting Democrat. Big surprise.
To make matters worse, the liberal media spreads rumors and fake news about our country. Colleges produce propaganda about our Founding Fathers, calling them racist bigots. Unless a young person actually bothers to investigate and learn for themselves, they’ll most likely believe.
That is probably why Pete Buttigieg, 2020 candidate for president, bashed our Founding Fathers recently. He attacked them over slavery, saying they were “ignorant” of how bad it was. He said this to school children, who were too young to know better.
Speaking to schoolchildren, South Bend mayor Pete Buttigieg tried to ensure that they knew two things: that the Founders of the United States who wrote the Constitution were ignorant about slavery being a bad thing, and that they also did not respect civil rights, the implication being that only the enlightened Americans of today have a real grasp of what is right and true. Way to poison children’s minds against American, Buttigieg. Is Pete an idiot or a liar? Because what he said is patently untrue. The only explanation is that he’s one or the other. And I can’t decide which is worse.
Numerous people came out online to explain to Buttigieg just how wrong he was. Sen. Ted Cruz took to Twitter to reveal exactly what many of our fathers said about slavery.

Cruz went on to also quote John Jay, founding father and first Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. These men were powerful, influential leaders. They helped shape the country we are in today. Because of their hard work and sacrifice, we are all free. And they all hated slavery.
They are not the only ones. Slavery was a major point of controversy during the writing of the Constitution. Many of our Founding Fathers were determined to outlaw it, then and there. We have a long history of great leaders condemning slavery and fighting to end it. It all culminated in the events leading to the Civil War.
Now, tell me this: does Mayor Pete not know our history? This man wants to be President of the United States and he doesn’t even know that many of our FF hated slavery. Should a man with such a poor educated even be running for POTUS?
Or, is he just lying to these children to brainwash them? Get them believing these lies early on, so they’d think the only “good people” in our country are Democrats? That those freedom-loving men who founded America were slavery-loving monsters?
It looks that way to me. Regardless of the reason, it is truly disturbing that a wannabe president would say this to children.
Mayor Pete was spreading lies about our Found Fathers. And this man thinks we should elect him president?
He must be dreaming.
